This workshop focuses on three interrelated phases and stages:

  1. Active cancer phase
  2. Post Treatment phase
  3. Surviving phase and remission stage

INTRODUCTION : Cancer in its many variations ( over 200 types have been identified ) and treatments affects all clients in a holistic manner. Body-Mind and Spirit are inextricably woven together and no one part should be preferred or ignored. Cancer is systemic and long-term . There is no single cause of cancer like a virus ,microbe or bacteria . Cancer is slow-acting and insidious. Therefore the instructor has chosen this  time-proven and modern bodywork modality  to create a healing environment in the client. Also , this modality  is non-invasive and non-confrontational  confrontational.

PROTOCOL:

This is a hands-on,live class with student participation.

  1. You will be taught the following:
  2. What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage ( MLD ) ?
  3. How is the application, touch and duration different of MLD different for a Cancer Patient when compared to a normal treatment for a non-cancer patient ?
  4. How to position the client, the quality of touch for each stage of treatment . The choice of site.
  5. The characteristics , protocols and contraindications for these 3 types and stages of Cancer Patients:

I ) During treatment

2 ) Post – treatment

3 ) Surviving and Remission Stage

  1. Identifying and listing the THREE main types of Cancer Treatments and their side-effects: Chemo – Therapy, Radiation and Surgery. Contraindications and precautions for each treatment.
  2. Setting up a comprehensive protocol and check- list with long-term and short-term goals for each stage of cancer treatment and post-treatment  and survival mode.
